 To render more efficient the mind map model in the computer, Knowledge Master's conception has been, instead, to enable the user to better organize the mind map, even starting from a very generic template that the user can develop in total freedom, in any axial directions and with free and convenient use of space. 

It is important to bear in mind that human perception of the graphical object has its spatial and geometrical demands, and that free space distribution and orientation is fundamental. 

Following the line of thought of not restricting neither constricting graphical freedom, that must be defined by the user, in a Knowledge Master the mind map author can: 

  1. First of all, start from a mind map template, to even avoid initial inertia and confusion, that can even allow some small sins in formality, ad libitum.

  2. Classify (categorize) ideas, assigning an "idea type" to affine ideas, and to every idea type a specific graphical dressing. It was an old dream of mind maps aficionados. This enables easy recognition "at a glance" of ideas that share common attributes through a specific background and text colors, object size, specific geometrical shape; these are, fundamental elements to enhance any mind map.

  3. Represent specific ideas with images of any kind or size, even animated GIF, from Knowledge Master catalogs (more than 2000 images) or the user's.

  4. Assign external documents (texts, images, multimedia) to any idea, for greater insight in understanding and development.

  5. Connect a mind map to any other mind map or concept map, or having both in an heterogeneous map, having different map types in different map layers.

  6. Connect ideas to Internet sites..

  7. Write (or import) descriptive texts to ideas, even in the RTF format.

  8. Save and open the maps in Internet sites.

  9. Switch between the mind map and the concept map type and vice versa, without loosing information.

  10. Export the map to text format (outline or propositional).

  11. Full text search inside ideas descriptive text.

  12. Export the mind map to an image file.

  13. E-mail the map from inside Knowledge Master.

  14. Search by idea types.

  15. Associate external programs to ideas.
